Understand the decision
Name the exact meeting point
Large hotels may have a lobby, side entrance, garage or restricted forecourt. Record the street address and door name, and give reception the booking name and pickup time.
Separate assistance from endorsement
Hotel staff can call or identify a vehicle, but confirm operator, plate, fare method and destination yourself. A recommendation does not replace local licensing checks.
Plan the departure buffer
Allow for lift time, luggage loading, one-way streets, road restrictions and a replacement vehicle. For airports or trains, work backwards from the required arrival time.

Common questions
Should I let the driver take my bags before checking the booking?
Check the vehicle or booking first. Keep valuables with you and confirm that the luggage capacity is suitable before loading.
Can reception guarantee the taxi fare?
Only rely on a regulated fare, meter or written quote that applies to the trip. Ask who set the price and what extras can be added.
